Please allow me to introduce myself and ask a question at the same time. My

name is Tammy and I had my LAP-RNY by Dr. Boone on 4/20/00. I have been a

lurker for quite sometime now, but I have a question. Today I am having an

iron infusion as my iron levels have bottomed out. The hematologist is

planning to do the complete infusion today which should restore my ferritin

to where it should be, and then he will monitor me monthly for response. My

question is, is it harmful to receive that much iron all in one day? Thanks

for your help and sorry for the short intro. I'll write more later.

Tammy, I have no idea if this is okay or not. However, a hematologist

specializes in blood disorders including anemia. I would certainly hope

he knew what he was doing. Me personally, I would ask him about the

risks.
