GOAL!

Hello my old friends and " family " !

It has been SO long since I have posted here. My life has been a

roller coaster the past 11 months and I have had many challenges to

overcome. But I wanted to update you on the way my life has changed

since I had surgery on Jan 13, 2003.

I have reached my goal and then some. I started at 262 pounds and am

now at 133 pounds (my goal was 135). I have, as my friend Lori would

say, gained SO much. I have gained confidence, strength physically,

emotionally, and spiritually. I am the one who didn't get her gall

bladder out and I still have it in! It never bothered my once I

started eating right.

Some have asked me for my " secret " . THe only secret is to be good to

yourself after all the struggle to get into surgery and be

COMPLIANT. I have followed all of my doctors rules. I take my

supplements, take all my protein and drink all my water. I have

never " cheated " . Now that I am under goal I have started to increase

some calories by adding whole milk instead of skim and allowing some

treats (such as sugar free candy). I also walk everday no matter

what. I could probably work out more and improve in that area, but I

am satisfied with at least walking daily. I can't eat bread and stay

away from other " whites " , such as pasta, rice and potatoes. Recently

I have been enjoying baked potatoes, but that is because I am in

maintainence. I didn't do that before!

Everyday I thank God for Dr. de la Cruz and the life saving gift he

gave me. He has been with me through visits and emails and group.

Through my marital separation and moves and family trials he has

been there, not just with my health, but supporting me emotinally as

well. I think he realized that it was a total support program. For

my weight loss to be a success I have needed support all around!

I apologize for not being here for all of you. But I hope you will

understand that the trials I have been through have kept me from

spending too much time on the computer. It is amazing I have had

this much time to type today!

God bless you all and keep looking up! I do!

Lily, it's great to hear from someone that's reached their goal and has such

a good attitude. Of course, everyone's attitude here is great. It lifts me

up. I really look forward to more confidence, and all the rest.
