Forget for a minute how we use the word " Lazy " in common culture--it has

deteriorated into meeaning some immoral amoeba-like condition in humans

without any willpower. (sound familiar? It's been part of the lexicon about

obesity since forever)

What I would like you to focus on instead is the meaning of the word. It is

likely from the German " lasich, " meaning to be feeble. The world " lazy " is

also related to the High German " erleswen " which means 'to become weak.'

You ask what would cause laziness? Ask what enfeebles your spirit? what

causes you to become weak in spirit? The issue, to my mind, in my truly two

cent's worth, is an issue of spirit--the animating force in all human beings.

You ask what is the cure? The " cure " (although I am almost certain as a

shrink that only hams can be cured--the rest of us have to keep working

things out over time with the best guidance we can get) is to reverse the

weakening influences, to mediate whatever is causing something that ought be

moderaely to very strong to instead become frail.

hint # 24957: For mots people it is self-talk that diminishes them so.

just my two cent's worth. To my mind, almost anthing can be made better to

lots better if you don't leave attention to your spirit and your soul's need

s out of it.

WAY TO GO. Yay Lori!

Geesh! Lori, some people are so narrowminded they can, as my grandmother used

to say, see through a keyhole with both eyes. Man!

I have such a hard time with the word lazy. I like the Greek definition

much better, easier to deal with. The worst experience I had with the

word lazy was having a PA and several nurses accuse me of being lazy and

if I would just get off my butt and walk 5 miles a day, I would be fine.

Never mind it was taking every ounce of energy just to get out of bed and

get dressed or to walk across the room. I weighed 479 lb, had congestive

heart failure and COPD when this was said to me and about me to a patient

advocate. I actually had to bring an attorney to my last office visit to

be admitted to the hospital. Needless to say, I have a new physician

now.

Lori Owen - Denton, Texas

CHF 4/14/01 479 lbs.

SRVG 7/16/01 401 lbs.

Current Weight 339.5 lbs. and loosing again
