Guest guest
OK! OK! But what can one do if one is admittedly LAZY! What is the definition of lazy? I'm starting to think: Lazy=hates self, rebells against self and whatever is good for self on purpose. I hate being lazy. I have just discovered that I am lazy. Sometimes I will ask myself, am I just lazy or am I tired, paranoid of going out or simply again lazy? What would cause laziness, what is the cure? Donna I'm so sorry about the tinnitus. I have worried about this condition many time and have often thought how awful to have it. Good luck to you.
Guest guest
Donna~ It may not be laziness, who knows? Have you tried therapy? I have had to do about 15 years worth, and believe me, it has been well worth the time and effort I have spent. Not saying it will take you 15 years, as my problems were exceedingly complex. I have learned to take something that caused me difficulites, and turn it into an asset. It's all come together for me, and it's working. I think anyone that has a great deal of weight to lose, will have issues to deal with that are beyond the scope of a support group. I think the support group is wonderful for just that, support. But for the major issues of what made us MO, and why we continue to stay that way, even post op, they need to be dealt with on a professional level. My 2 cents worth anyway...speaking from a wealth of experience. Regards~ ´¨¨)) -:¦:- ¸.·´ .·´¨¨)) ((¸¸.·´ ..·´ -:¦:- Jacque -:¦:- ((¸¸.·´* OK! OK! But what can one do if one is admittedly LAZY! Guest guest
Wellll....at least you've admitted to yourself (and all of US!!) that you're lazy! I dont' really have a definition of lazy. There are things that I don't want to do sometimes...and don't do them, and have been called LAZY over the years. I've sat down in one spot for a weekend at a time just from being overly tired...but I was mistook, the MD said I was depressed; gave me some cute little pills and sat there for another couple of days. It turned out to be the results of sleep apnea...I was really just worn out tired. I think I'm lawfully lazy, when I choose to pay someone to cut my yard...and I've got this perfectly good riding lawnmower in the garage to do it with. I think THAT qualifies!! Guest guest
>>> I think I'm lawfully lazy, when I choose to pay someone to cut my yard...and I've got this perfectly good riding lawnmower in the garage to do it with. I think THAT qualifies!!<<< I think your to hard on yourself as many of us are -- if you don't " enjoy " cutting the grass and can afford to have it done I don't think that makes a person lazy... just making a choice to do something one enjoys as opposed to a chore we don't enjoy doesn't make us lazy. I love cutting the grass with my push mower (not all that much grass) but I still enjoy it so it is a task I do -- I HATE cleaning all the gardens in the spring from the winter grass and weeds that can live through all the cold -- the tons of leaves, the dead limbs, all the spring cleaning gardener stuff so I hire it done -- but once it is clean and the mulch is down and it smells SO good and the weather is warmer I love to plant pretty flowers (for someone else to clean out next year) and I enjoy other gardening tasks -- I don't think I'm lazy because I pay someone to do something I could easily do myself but don't enjoy doing. I think I am being frugal with my time and choosing to do what I enjoy -- something I never much took into consideration when I was obese because I didn't " deserve " it or whatever reason I gave myself at the time. I think a parent or parents who will not work to support their children but instead live in poverty when they do not have to (and I realize some have no choice...) but when they have a choice and choose not to work to support their family I think they are lazy and worthless and setting a very poor example for yet another generation of children to learn from. I think people who don't tidy up after themselves are lazy... people who throw trash out the car window instead of saving it for the proper containers are lazy -- add to the list of criminals, thieves and drug dealers who want " easy money " instead of busting hump at a legal job are lazy and dangerous. I know I could do a lot of " things " that need done and some I don't do because I'm what most would consider lazy (I'd rather curl up with a good book because the task is just not that important to me) but I don't think I'm lazy because I'd prefer to spend my (limited) time doing something I enjoy as opposed to always doing what others have categorized as " my duty " without even consulting me!!! So, permission granted to Dan to hate cutting the grass, preferring to spend " limited " time doing something enjoyable and hiring someone else to cut the grass ~smile~ and you are not lazy for it!!! You are smart to use your time wisely. hugz, ~denise

I see grass-cutting free days in the upcoming Spring in my near future! Thanks!! Dan
Guest guest
Dan... please see the following post from the AMOS website (posted today). Just something to be aware of. If it were me, I would check into the " fistula " possibility too: AMOS Post: I had the gastric bypass revision March 25, 2002. I have had a problem with chronic infections in my abdomen that break through the surface and drain constantly. Some openings have happened on their own and some were opened by the surgeon. For nearly 11 months the surgeon has had me use long q-tip swabs and hydrogen peroxide to keep the holes open and draining. For 11 months I've been told it'll clear up on it's own. Early last summer I went to a different surgeon that my gp recommended who cut out one of the pockets of infection. A few months later I went to my gp with what I thought was a possible hernia only to find out it was another huge pocket of infection. I returned to the original surgeon who opened and drained and once again I was told to diligently do the whole q- tip thing at least 4 times a day! After 11 months the surgeon finally had an MRI done today which was inconclusive. I was sent off to radiology to have dye injected and another scan done which revealed the fistula which was caused by a nick in my small inestine when surgery was done. Now I'm facing another surgery at the end of the month to have the fistula taken care of. Has anybody been through this? Do fistulas keep coming back? Is it true what somebody posted or is the surgeon going to be able to take care of this? - Bingham} > Dear Dan, I am glad you called SOMEONE, BUT you need to be SEEN. Guest guest
Dan, I sure hope you don't have to go through all that with the Q-tips and all! I really feel that you shouldn't have waited to see your doctor but at least it will be soon. I agree with Ceep Mom! The fact that it came open is good in the fact that it can drain instead of tunneling inward. It's obvious you have some kind of infection. Don't go home with just antibiotics. Make the doc find the source! Please keep us updated. Dawn
