I personally didn't have a revision, but do know that my surgeon, Dr.

Elariny does them.

Good luck,

Cindy

There is an excellent support group list called DS_Revision. I'm

sure they can give you more specific answers to your questions

regarding their experiences with revisions to previous weight loss

surgeries. Here is the link:

Hi all I am new to this group. I had my surgery about 12 years ago.

It was back before they really knew what they were doing at least in

the area that I live. I had a stapling with a vertical banding. I

never go under 200 lbs.

I still throw up alot, I eat very little, and I have gained all of my

weight back. So, now I am thinking about getting some revisions

done - now that they seem to know a bit more - and I know a bit

more. I would go to a larger city and a better Doctor. So, I am

guess I am looking for someone who has had revisions - and maybe a

bit of direction. Please share.

Hi & welcome!

I'm willing to bet that the band has slipped, rather common, and that

would explain the throwing up. You really NEED a revision because of

how dangerous constant throwing up is. I believe we have a few

people on here who have been through it, but your idea to go to a big

city with a good doctor is the right one, IMO. BTW, where do you

live? You can bet some on here would have some suggestions. :))

Thanks -

I live in Green Bay, WI so anyone who can give me suggestions on

Doctors would be appriciated. And anyone who has gone through

revisions - info regarding that process would be helpful also. The

1st surgery was not a good experience at all - 6 days in the hospital

and a tube down my nose for 3 of them - but that was normal back

then - or so I have been told. So I am a bit apprehensive about the

the whole thing. But if I am going to do it again I would like to

have everything fixed and may be lose the weight this time.

May I ask why that is required? Is it because you are not loosing

weight? Perhaps the answer lies elseware. I don't mean to be the

least bit harsh. I am just asking for more information from you.

Most surgeons I see run from the thought of a revision. Must be what

seprates the gifted surgeons from the not so great ones. I really

would like to know why you require a revision and if there is

anything that we could do to help..
