Getting shorter?

Hi all! I'm two months post op and 45 pounds lighter. I am

noticable smaller but I also seem shorter even though I still

measure the same height. Why is that? That's the comment I get the

most. How come you aren't as tall as you used to be? I'm 5' 7 " ,

before surgery people would comment on how tall I was, now they all

think I'm shorter. Is it just an optical illusion? Has anyone else

exerienced this?

yes, my mom just told me last night that i was shorter...and she had

noticed this before now, but never told me...my mom and I have almost

always been the same heighth and I am now noticable shorter than

her...I am 11 WEEKS post op and down just over 50 pounds...What is

this strange phenomenon?

I went in to the docs office for a follow up and using the same

measure thingy as always they recorded a 3/4 inch INCREASE in my

height. Its weird, but the general concensus was that now that I

have lost so much weight I don't have so much compression on my

spine, hips, knees... and that my posture has probably improved quite

a bit.
