Guest guest
in my two cent's worth opinion, what you wrote below is reason for IMMEDIATE medical help; ask for a referral to a specialist. endochronologits might be the best bet. You also need a Gb surgeon who is going to truly help you AFTER ward. Ask around your local support group about who ELSE does surgery in your area and see if you can have a few appointments with a gb surgeon who has proper aftercare. What you have described about tiredness is not within the normal mean. This can be the sign of many things including anemia, blood glucose mayhem, onset of diabetes, depression, low protien absorbtion. Please let us know. I think we are all concerned for you, and thank you for telling us clearly what is going on... Please go to OSSG Protien list for lots of info and conversation about protein drinks and bars by folks who are in the know. Gads, EVERY time I read a letter like yours I wish we had a reliable uptodate nutritionist on list who knows the latest research for gb people and also what HAS NOT been studied yet... Hang in there Angel(a)... all best ceep In a message dated 1/19/03 12:49:35 PM, Graduate-OSSG writes: << Although improved from my pre-surgery days, my energy level > still really sucks. Guest guest
getting the B12 shots monthly. He said he never really knew anyone they helped ********** WHAT?!?!?! It's not like lotion you rub on dry hands! It's a very measurable substance. How fast can you get another doc? Not everyone gets a power surge in starting B12 shots. But the blood levels begin to show an improvement, and it may very slowly raise your energy level. Thanks, Vitalady, Inc. Guest guest
Hi R, Congrats on the journey you've taken! In May, I'll be 10 years out and I still have questions. This is a great place to be for support and help. I do want to say a couple of things concerning vitamins and my own experience. At 15 months out, I could tell if I missed my vitamins. In the beginning, I was taking two prenatal multivitamins, two potassium (8MEQ), iron with vitamin C and a monthly B-12 shot. The iron and B-12 both can effect your energy level. I have read iron defficiency can contribute to RLS. So far, the increase in iron has not changed my own RLS. I have become defficient in both iron and B-12, and let me tell you, it's no picnic.I would suggest that you have your blood work done to see where you are. By all means...take your vitamins and suppliments. The further out you get, the harder it is to get it back. For me, B-12 shots give me a great boost. When I was low, it took about 3 times getting the shot before I felt any better. As for Calcium and D3....oh please take them regularly! I can't answer if you have a sodium defiency. Early on, I was too low on that. Six years before my surgery, while pregnant with my second child I HAD to eliminate salt from my diet. Once I had gotten used to it, I stopped using it. I still don't in anything for my family. Most of the food I buy is salt free. I actually had to go back to salting my food a little. That is enough to keep mine in the normal range.
