Guest guest
Hello everyone, I was on the obesityhelp.com and noticed that some people were saying that there bypass was between 100 - 150 cm. I am not sure what that means.. Does any one else understand this? I was reading my surgical report it states that i have a proximal Gastric pouch 20 - 30 cc.What is that? and what is the difference between the the two of them ? Is that a common size? Thanks for the help .. Sharon S.

Thanks for the help .. Sharon S. ****30 cc. is approximately 1 ounce, so your new pouch is between 2/3- 1 oz. in size, and 1 oz. is a common size for the pouch. Guest guest
The term " proximal " does not refer to your pouch size. The terms " proximal " , " medial " and " distal " are used to refer to the length of the common channel of the remaining intestine. The common channel is that part of the intestine in which both nutrition and digestive juices mix together. The proximal has a longer common channel and the distal the shortest common channel. Drawings of the difference can be seen in the Bariatric Surgical Procedures section of http://www.bariatricsupplementsystem.com.
