Quicky question for you all.

I've been diagnosed with very high blood pressure and put on two

meds. One is Inderal, 80 mgs. time released. I'm now kinda

remembering that we can't " do " time released meds. Can you please

enlighten me asap. I need to start taking this stuff asap. Can you

also explain why, if I can't take time released meds, so I can

" inform " my cardiologist?

THANKS

Sandi

I'm going to try my hand at this one but please keep in mind that I have

had the srvg not bypass. It is my understanding that with some bypass

surgeries, there is a malabsorption problem. A time released pill needs

to stay in your system/blood stream to be effective. The medication is

released throughout the day in the blood stream. This means that the

medication needs to pass through the instestines to be absorbed into the

blood stream. If you have malabsorption problems, there is a possibility

that the medication will not get through the small intestine properly and

be absorbed making the medication ineffective.
