Guest guest
I have a 7 y/o with HFA and Verbal Apraxia. His speech is getting more clear every day. He is so verbal. So hang in their Mums and Dads, it does improve it's just a slow process at times. We just had his IEP and his biggest barrier is his distractibility. He is so smart. He can do age appropriate academics, handwriting, etc. but needs tons of re-direction to focus. We tried a handful of meds over the past 1.5 years...focalin, ritalin, methalyn, abilify. Nothing worked, or worked for a month and then stopped. All of the above had negative side-effects, increase ocd, tics, anxiety, etc. Anyone have anything work? Guest guest
Have you heard of the Feingold Diet? I am trying to decide between tackling that or giving Ritalin a try for my son. We've been on various strict diets before with some negative results so I'm a little hesitant but it's probably doable, at least for a short time to see if it helps. Might be worth looking it up.
