So many people I have talked to wound up doing the RNY afterwards. Its alot of money to have to put into two surgeries. Plus I also read that the weight loss is not as great as it is with RNY. Guest guest
Thanks Joan! I just realized that it was 60 #'s right after I posted one of my messages. Hard to believe that those 60#'s are gone forever! I read your postings and see tht you are doing great. Keep up the good work. I am lax on my exercise but after reading your post the other day about liking the exercise I started to walk again today. I get into these moods that I just don't want to exercise. Prior to surgery I would have been eating when I was in those moods but now I am in the process of making an afghan. So at least I am trying to find things to do other than eating!! Guest guest
Shelley, it's very foreign to me to " like " exercise. I had to force it, and I'm still doing so. I have to get in a routine, and do the exercise first thing in the a.m., or I won't do it. Hey, replacing food with an afghan is great! I have one I started in 1995, (we'll not get into procrastination) and it's a good time for me to finish it. It was the first one I decided to make for myself....a pretty Indian pattern. Guest guest
Joan, This is the first one I am making also. I am trying to teach myself. I think I am doing ok so far. I am planning on making myself a scarf next. I would say that it is about time to finish the one you started in 1995!! LOL I hope that I can eventually learn to make a fancy pattern. Right now I am just using the double stitch and it is turning out to be bigger than I thought. Next one I will have to make a little smaller. (This one will fit on a king size bed! ) Take Care. Here's to a Healthier New Year! Shelley D > Shelley, it's very foreign to me to " like " exercise. I had to force it, and > I'm still doing so. Guest guest
Shelley, they always seem to come out larger than you think! This isn't my first one, but my first one that I'm going to keep. I am so partial to this particular pattern, that I've made them for just about everyone. My wonderful Grandmother (now 102) taught me in the 5th grade. She still laughs at me and says I hold the hook like a shovel, but it works for me. I lost the directions to this pattern years ago, but it always comes back to me once I start. Maybe I would finish it if I'd stay off the computer! I'll be real quiet on the computer the next 2-3 days. I'm getting my granddaughter early in the a.m. I told my daughter to pack extra for her in case the snow was a problem.....a good ploy to keep her longer!! Jayci definitely doesn't like Grandma on the computer, unless I show her all the digital photos of her.....1-1/2 years old and on picture #596. How much fun!!!
