YES! I have tried adding on Vitamin E here as well. We have only

used up to 400 IU, but I have noticed more fussiness, more moodiness

and of course not as many speech sounds/attempts on the regular E.

When I recently switched back to High Gamma, I am seeing wonderful

improvements after just 4 days, including the ability to mimic hand

movements and gestures/signs, more easily without stressing. He is

also attempting speech and getting cues by looking at our mouths.

Participation in his Kindermusik class has been awesome for the past

two classes and things are looking way up. Only new things are the

High Gamma and the addition of 1 Evening Primrose Oil to the ProEfa

and ProEPA mix.

No, it isn't fish oil. Vitamin E comes in 4 forms - alpha, beta,

delta and gamma tocopherol. Alpha is the most active in the body,

but higher doses of alpha can cause a gamma deficiency, so we that

are using Vitamin E with our kids are trying to also give 200-300 mg

per day of gamma. One of the more readily available products on the

market is Vitamin World's High Gamma Tocopherol with 200IU of alpha

and 200mg of gamma (note: you don't add the two values together -

200 IUs of alpha is still just 200IUs).

However, a few of us (me included) are finding that our kids actually

need the higher gamma doses along with the alpha. What I posted

previously about my son was that I was giving him just one of the

High Gamma Tocopherol gelcaps per day, then increased to 2 per day.

Since that was a total of 400mg of gamma I decided to change the 2nd

dose to just a straight alpha dose with no gamma. We had regression

as if he did not even get the 2nd dose (I tried this on two different

days and saw the same results both time). I went back to 2 High

Gammas per day and there is no regression.

Ok, I'm getting confused. If 425mg= 200 IU's, then how many IU's would

500mg be? I found a product with 500mg's of natural source Gammas. It that

too much?

I haven't seen much of a change, if any, in my son with the Vit. E. Might

the high Gammas be in order?

Also, I'm starting to lose faith in the fish oils. Results were fantastic

the 1st 3 mos. on the NN complete (2 gelcapsules per day). Then I added 2

EPA's to that, and eventually increased the Omegas to 4 with the EPAs. I

saw nothing. Then I went back to 2 omegas, and one vit. e with no results.

Can anybody help get us back on track?

Thanks,

I don't think gamma is expressed in IUs. The d-alpha is expressed as

IUs and the gamma is expressed as mg. I've not seen it any other

way.
