ROFLMAO I promise, I'll restrain myself! Actually, although I live in

Jersey now, I grew up in Westchester, so I'm also a native New Yorker. Now,

we won't talk about what we used to call people from Queens. :))

And it's not Long Island, it's Lon-gIsland or just " the

Island. "

Sure, that's because you're there. But, for those of us off the peninsula,

it's just " The Island. " Hey, just for you, Regina, why don't we start

calling it " The Peninsula " instead? LOL Whaddaya think, Fay?

Ah, yes, my husband reminded me of that last night, I guess I blocked it

out because I hate it so much. We mostly say, " we're going to the east

end of the Island " , or " going out East " , which would refer to the

Hamptoms, etc. Or I live on the " North Shore of the Island " . There is

always some sort of designated area that one is going to before they say

" the Island " . LOL

Sounds so upscale and snooty. I love it!!! Really doesn't matter though,

" the Island " , " the Peninsula " , still can't afford to live here. LOL
