Actually, in my area (n.w. suburbs of Chicago) several hospitals have

" 24-hour clinics " in various neighborhoods. Similar to an ER, but not

attached to a hospital, and much less expensive. Oh, and usually nowheres

near as long a wait time to be seen and treated, either.

Hi ,

This is totally different than the people who use the emergency room as

their own personal doctor's office for the least little thing such as a

basic cold. You had good reason to be scared and you called your doctor

first and even he said to get to the ER right away.

No reason for you to have felt stupid at all!

I thought about this....I can't think of any around here (I remember that in

Delaware there are Urgi-cares)..........I guess part of the problem would be

my insurance too!!!! P.
