Guest guest
Well, I saw my endocrinologist today. Seems she has dealt with a lot of post bypass patients. Long story short, I am in great shape with the exception of a whacked out thyroid....which needs tweaking...so we are going to individual elements. She doesn't believe in doing the T-3 and T-4, but has given in to my reasoning, and is prescribing both for me...in the amounts that I probably need in comparison to what I WAS taking read..more T-4. Yes, I do have a bit of hyperparathyroidism, but she says I am doing a wonderful job at controling it...I am in the best shape of any post bypass patient nearly three years out that she has ever seen....(thank you !!!) She said it is obvious I made an informed choice when I did this...( she is obviously antibypass) and I have done a great job in taking care of myself, monitoring my labs, etc. O ther than changing my thyroid meds, she doesn't need to see me again, unless I have more problems. Boy, do I feel good tonight! Toeing the mark really pays off in the end! She just wants me to have my thyroid rechecked in two months...and have the results sent back to her. If it needs tweaking from there, she will help with that. I am so relieved!
