Guest guest
Hannah, Hannah... 50 lbs ...bravo and thunderous applause. Laughed when I read your inquiry regarding how to put off answering those " sooo, how much have you lost so far " questions from people who are not worthy of a response. I personally smile impishly and say .... " thats private " .. weight loss, it's like a box of opened chocolates .. EVERYONE wants one... even those who dont normally partake in sweets cant resist.... " asking " .. I asked too... I remember, my best friend Jeanne had the surgery first .. and heavens I asked and asked her, ... pestered her daily ... shameful in retrospect .. I was such a pain in the heini, I know I know...but there it is. Am glad you and your family had a happy Thanksgiving Skinny wishes from Mandy in CA 275/149/
Guest guest
Hi, my name is Hannah...I am 29 and I had my surgery on 9/29/03. I am almost nine weeks post-op and have never felt so good(besides having a cold right now)...I have lost almost 50 pounds and look at my new body in the mirror quite often now...I used to only visit mirrors from the neck up. It seems everyone around me reacts differently to me...everyone has questions and I am usually happy to answer them. What I hate is when someone I don't very well wants to know how much weight I have lost, I get offended. It's not like when I 50 pounds heavier they would have come up to me and asked how much I weighed, or how many pounds I had gained over the last 8 weeks...has anyone else had this problem, I am looking for a snappy(yet still nice) comeback for those who have no business knowing my business... ....On A lighter Side!! Had a great Thanksgiving...my family even though some were against me having the surgery(my three over- protective brothers) were so great, they were curious about what I can and can't have...I made the whole meal...low-fat and low carb and they all loved it...made sugar-free banana nut bread, pumpkin pie and my whole family loved it...it was wonderful, I ate a bite of everything and it was all soooooooo good! It was also nice after the meal not to feel like I needed to unbutton my pants so I could breathe. I really don't know what my limits are yet and I have not pushed it...that feels great! ....I have also started to experiment with recipes and making them low- fat and sugar-free...my kids really love everything that I make...and it is good for them. My husband...not so adaptable(he has no problems with weight)...but he usually gives most of my stuff a gratuitous sample to make his wife happy! ....anyway, to make a long story short(sorry guys)...I am loving life and am discovering so much about myself...Happy Holidays to all! Guest guest
Thanks for the reply, never thought of saying " that's private " ...originally I just thought that since everyone knew why I was leaving work for a while(word gets around fast at my job) it kinda entitled them to know...well not anymore...I have to admit that the people I am closest to at work have been wonderful and supportive...thanks! > > > > > Hannah, Hannah... 50 lbs ...bravo and thunderous applause.
