Guest guest
First of all, thanks to all who responded about my Dexascan question. My PCP is pretty ticked at my insurance company, and he's resubmitting the request with add't info AND the malabsorption code. On another note, I thought I'd share this experience, too. I'm pretty hip and happening on keeping up with my drugs and vitamins and what we can and can't take, so today was an eye-opener for me. My blood pressure has been absolutely terrible (I have PCOS, and high blood pressure is one of the lovely things PCOS brings). After losing 225 lbs, my blood pressure was ok for a while, but then it started climbing and climbing. Lately, it's been REALLY terrible (the past few months), and I couldn't figure out why. I had a lightbulb moment this morning as I was driving to the doc's. When my doc came in, I asked if the Verapamil I'd been taking was SR (slow release). Well....it WAS!!!!! I really like my doc; he's very open to new ideas, to the research I do, and to me suggesting and requesting what I need as a bypass patient. He's open to learning along with me. He can't remember everything, which is why I take the responsibility of researching my medications and treatments. He prescribed something new to treat my blood pressure, and hopefully that will do the trick. I'm posting this as a reminder to really, really watch what you're taking and do your own research. As careful as I am, and as good as my doc is, this one slipped by us both. REALLY check everything out!!! =) *HUGs* Staci
