Hello everyone! My name is Kathy, I'm 31 from South Central, PA. I

just received my insurance approval yesterday. I can't believe it.

I've had my surgery date of Feb 6 for about a month now and my Dr

said they were not going to submit it to my insurance for approval

till late Dec. or Jan. I was so shocked when I opened the envelope to

find that it had already been done and that they had approved it in

less than 4 days. I am so excited and very lucky since my insurance

is covering it 100%. I'm now at the stage where it just doesn't seem

real. I know it will be here before I know it. I'm 325lbs and 5'10 "

with BMI @45. My Dr is letting me choose whether I want to have open

or Lap RNY. I have chosen Lap mainly because of the recovery time

needed, not to mention I don't want the huge scar...lol. He's saying

I'll only be off work 2 weeks, and since I live alone and support

myself this is a good thing. I read 90% of the postings here and want

to thank all of you for your advice and sharing. Is there anyone else

that has a date near mine? Looking for a buddy...

Thanks Joy for the info. Now I understand. My numbers look very close to

yours, and already at day 6, I can see my face a little thinner and my neck

too. I had my wedding rings resized, $50., not cheap. I wear 3 rings my

husband bought me, the wedding ring, a diamond ring (when we got married in

1970 could afford much that looked like a diamond), and a spectacular ruby

ring he had custom made for me. He going to have all 3 resized, tinier,

when I'm ready. What a sweetheart! Keep up the good losing!

RE: All systems are go!

Joan back in May I was under my doctors orders to lose weight. I weighted

at that time 290. I had my surgery on 11/12/03. I weighted 271. I had to go

to the doctor again for knee pain one week out of surgery and I am down to

260. 290/271/260. I know I am down more than that now. I have a neck and my

clothes are getting big on me. I can almost wear my wedding band can't wait

to put them back on me.

I assume 290 is starting, maybe 271 current? The 3rd #??

Thanks
