I try not to bore everyone too often with my problems so try not to post too much on it. Anyway, to answer the question - I am still healing. My wound is about half closed. I finally graduated from using a walker to a cane and then right before Christmas began walking without any aid. I can walk around my home and all but still have to use the wheelchair when going to the doctor or shopping. The body takes a long time to grow and replace lost tissue and skin. Despite the slowness of that process, I am actually feeling wonderful. I try and work in the office four to six hours a day and am busy on my latest project. I have designed a new bariatric transport system where three EMS people can go in and safely move a extra large patient (even if they weigh 800 lbs) without any danger to themselves or the patient. Right now the number one way EMS and Firemen are injured is trying to move obese patients - they suffer back injuries and patients suffer when they are dropped. Not only that but 18 " wide stretchers just don't work for people over 300 pounds. Addressing that problem is what I am working on right now.
