Guest guest
I hear a lot of you talking about being scared before surgery, but does everyone have second thoughts? I'm 13 days away from a new life and every day I think I may be doing the wrong thing to myself. Any input? ~Mandy
Guest guest
the one thing that is not in question, Mandy, is this ...... eating to the point of MO .. IS doing the wrong thing for yourself. If you are of the mind that you can get this eating glitch under control without surgery ...by all means, I say go for it. However, if like myself and many others, you have exhausted yourself with one diet after another diet after another diet after another diet .... and failed. The picture then becomes crystalline clear. Some of us here on the board have spent two-thirds of our life time stuck in a cycle of traditional dieting ... losing the weight, only to gain it back plus a few lbs .....henece, our resolve to stop the cycle. Follow your heart Mandy ...but too .. which ever way you choose.... never, never, never, give up. This, ....is where our new pouches help us daily. They helps us to stay in the ring and continue the fight against obesity every day.. Not for a week, Mandy, not for six months .. .. but every day for the rest of our lives. hope this helps to ease those jitters hugs from Mandy in CA 275/148/
Guest guest
Mandy, I had my surgery a week ago and will tell you that the day before the surgery I was hit with such a feeling a panic and really wondered if I was doing the right thing. Mainly it seemed to surround the idea (especially becasue I was on liquids at that point) that I would never be able to " eat " again in that good old comforting way. I mentally snapped myself around and visualized what my results were going to be, all the things I was going to be able to do that I haven't been doing. It's way beyond the fact that we'll look great, to the fact that we will be so healthy, and food will no longer be relied on to fill a void or to bring comfort. Food will be there for what it's truly intended for, to give us the nourishment we need to physically survive. I have had no complications thus far and am healing at a rapid pace. My surgery was open and the biggest pain I have right now is dealing with the two drains that are hanging around. I can't wait to have those our next Tuesday. Keep your thoughts positive, know that it is absolutely normal to have fears and doubts. You have to be the final decision maker of course. Maybe just give yourself a mental picture of what the results are going to mean for you and visualize that whenever you are second guessing yourself. Good luck, my thoughts and prayers will be with you on the big day.
