Guest guest
HI tammy, I am 41 years old and pregnant with my 4th baby. I was infertile for many reasons and never knew why, just never worked. I tried for 8 unsuccessful years of Clomid with IUI's and no luck there either. Anyways, i finally gave up and 6 months later got pregnant with twins on my own, no fertility docs at all, lol. What a shocker that was. I ended up having twin boys at 34 years old. Anyways, I never got pregnant after that even though Iddi nott ake any birth control and when the boys were 2 i decided to try a round of Clomid with an IUI and my God, it took the first time around. Well after that I never got prego again figured I had been very blessed by God and counted my 3 blessings. I had a cyst the docs put me on birth control for and after the cyst went away I quit the pills and got pregnant right off first cycle but i had a miscaraige, the hormones were probably not adjusted so soon after the pills. Anyways, I had my gastric bypass in October 2002 and went back on the pill just in case. I quit the pills at 8 months and got pregnant right off again only to miscarry again. I figured that was it for me since I was 40 and had such a weird infertility history, but it was not, I got pregnant again 3 1/2 months afte the last miscarraige and I am currently 19 weeks along and doing really well. I am alot more fertile since my surgery i think, seeing I got pregnant 2 times within 6 months and before that the pregnancies were spaced out at least 2 years, that was the shortest period of time between them. But now, 3 1/2 months, WOW. I am on a group for prego's after GBS and it seems there are many, many women who are pregnant after the surgery that had PCOS and other inferttility problems and got prego easily. I think you will have an easier time getting pregnant now that you have lost weight. Women on the group say how their cycles are more regular, wopen who haven't had periods in years are now regular, It is amazing. I am praying for you that you will get pregnant and have your baby. You are not too old, I would consider yet another if my husband would agree, LMAO, but he is not, hehehe. Well, I have been rambling, sorry this wqas so long but wanted you to know the whole story and that anything is possible when it comes to the baby making process. I also thank God, without him I would not have these kids. Good Luck and I will send you much baby dust. Oh yeah, I do not think everyone needs to wait a year to get pregnant after their surgery as long as you are eating well and getting in all your nourishment and taking the vitamins. If you are going to try to get pregnant then i suggest getting yourself on some folic acid too, it is best to start them before pregnancy. I take 800 mcg a day which seems to be the normal amount from what I see the group takes. good Luck. Guest guest
Well, first off that whole thing about you not being able to get pregnant because of being overweight is a bunch of bull. I think doctors tell you that when they are stumped and can't find a better explanation. I was about 275 when I got pregnant for my son, (unexpectantly) and I was about 300 or so when I got pregnant for my daughter. Not that being that overweight and pregnant is easy but, it can be done. And as far as you being too old if you have children past 40 is a bunch of bananas too. My cousin (who's birthday is April 2nd, my surgery date!! Is that cool or what) , He's 28 (my age) and his girlfriend is 43. They just found out they are expecting. SHe had her 1st doctor appt. and she and the baby are in perfect health so, don't worry so much and don't rush it. I know that your desire to have a baby is almost overwhelming but, wouldn't you rather be in the best condition and health to carry that child and give it a great start in life?? I know, I know, I'll get off my soap box now.LOL in MI 325 Pre-Op\ mom to iel-5 and Maylynn-2 " I believe in the sun, even when it is not shining. I believe in love, even when not feeling it.
