Hello everyone,

I'm new to this group. I had surgery about 4 weeks ago, and am

technically still on a liquid diet. I have taken a bit of bread on

two occassions, and had almost instint discomfort. I know that I'm

not supposed to be having any starches right now, but admit was

curious as to how my body would handle it. Will it be like this

forever or only for a few months? Also is there any chance that the

pouch can expand from a flat soda? I have not tried soda at all due

to this concern. My sister is a nurse, and said that taking like

beno or something like this before drinking a soda should keep the

pouch from expanding. Does anyone know anything about this? Any

answers would be helpful. Thanks.

welcome aboard, misstexas. by nature, i'm a limit pusher, so i can relate. but

i suppose there's some rhyme & reason to the " diet "

progressions. @ 4 weeks your pouch is still healing (i guess). hang in there.

you'll get plenty of different ideas, since it's seems that

docs all have their own protocols when it comes to their post-op care.
