Guest guest
The Pineapple....OY! I can eat canned pineapple without incident. The one time I tried one cube of fresh pineapple I spent the evening rolling around on the floor in pain! It is very fibrous. That was one food I wasn't warned about by my doc. He warned of popcorn (if a kernel gets stuck) and celery (also very fibrous) and gum. However I am NOT a swallower - however my hubby now wants to meet Vicki too! LOL! Guest guest
> The pineapple caveat still has me scratching my head. We have fresh pineapple for dessert at least once a week lately. I heard it too, but as part of a general warning against acidic foods. I was told to avoid oranges, grapefruit, pineapple, anything with a high acid content. And pineapple can have some thick edges, which I suppose could get stuck if you didn't chew very well. I can't eat an orange, because I can't chew well enough to get the membrane between sections broken down. I just sip the juice out of each section and throw the rest away. Then I dump from the sugar in the orange, and go lie down a while (LOL!) ~~ Lyn G
