Intro

January 6, 2003

Hi. My name is Debbie La -. I had my surgery a bit over a

year ago with Dr. Simonowitz in Bellevue, WA. I have lost about 95 pounds

and would like to lose about 50 more.. but even if I don't I will have

accomplished my " goal " when I had the surgery. I had diabetes and was so

insulin resistant that huge amounts of insulin made no difference in my

blood sugars. On maximum oral meds, my diabetes was still uncontrolled.

Today, my blood sugar is completely normal on NO medication, even if I lapse

and eat something sweet. Dr. S does a very proximal and conservative

bypass, so I do not expect to lose as much as some people. It would be

nice.. but hey, I'm not complaining.

I had severe GERD. Gone.

^I couldn't sleep without he dependent side of my body being very painful

with all of my weight on it. Gone.

I have severe lung disease. It will never go away as it was not caused by

my weight... but I am certainly getting around better!

I had a broken foot for a year that would not heal. I was in a cast for a

year. HEALED (and thankfully not GONE! :-)

My hobby is showing my dogs in conformation and obedience. I could no

longer do either. Now I do!

I had sleep apnea. It's probably gone, but I will always use CPAP anyway

because of my lung problems.

High blood pressure? GONE

I could go on, but you get the picture.

My BMI was 51. It is now 37. I am no shrinking violet by any means, but I

sure as hell do feel better!

I cannot exercise as much as I would like because of my lung problems and

joint problems. If I could have I would probably lose more weight... but I

will take each pound that I can lose, very gratefully.

Just thought I would say HI. I have been lurking here for a very long time,

and now that I am passed my one year anniversary, thought that I would speak

up.

Oh... and Hi, .. What's up?! Last I asked you about Chocolate

Protein Stack you said you thought it tasted like Mud, even though you were

Ms. Champion! I had just tasted it and I thought you were nuts because I

was in love! Guess you finally saw the error of your ways! I love the

stuff! I either drink it plain or mix it with PS 100. Mmmmmmm
