Hi. My name is and I have been reading the group for about

8 months. I had a LAP RNY 12/21/2001 and have lost 134 pounds. I

started out at 317 and still have about 25 to go. It has been slow

the last couple of months nad that gets me more obsessed. I have to

chime in with everyone else. SUGAR is EVIL. I had not even tried

sugar until a couple of weeks before Christmas. My will just got

weaker and weaker. I discovered that I don't dump which is a

BUMMER! Anyway, one taste led to another and another. Next thing

you know on Saturday I have had 6 chocolate chip cookies. Have I

lost my mind? Hadn't gained any weight, but hadn't lost any either,

but decided at the new year I was going to exercise more than my

measly two days per week and get rid of the carbs, drink more water.

Well today I weigh myself as I always do on Monday and I'm up 2

pounds.

I'm with the rest of you, it's 3pm EST and I've had 4 protein shakes

and I'm OK, want to eat, but not hungry. Can you have 6 or 7 in a

day if you're proximal?

Thank you all for the support that you're posts have given me over

the past eight months. I'm here struggling with you all, trying to

tell myself I'm a success when I don't feel like one.

Hi & welcome!

As for your question, I've always believed that if it feels good, do

it! Just remember to be a little more diligent about your water if

you're protein-loading, K?

When I start carb and sweet binging, I know my protein needs upping.. During

Christmas holidays , I had a struggle trying to get in all my protein shakes

and manage to work all the hours I was scheduled.. and I did give in to some

carb and sweet cravings.. and yes, those pounds will find you.. 6 pounds

have found me.. so it is back to pushing protein supplements and water these

days.. I am losing pretty slowly, but still have a few pounds that I want to

shed..

Listen to , the sugar and carbs will cause you to regain weight..

which none of us deliberately wants to do.. I have now gotten rid of all the

sugar laden stuff, and most of the carbs in my house.. Much to the dismay of

my spouse.. However, I have replaced those items with things like baby

carrots, celery, salads, tuna fish.. I know .. not a food item ..

etc..

I also think my cravings are due from being so fatigued .. and some of the

fatigue is due to the anemia, and low B 12 levels plus working all those long

hours lately.. I have also been craving anything with tomatos.. v8 juice,

spaghetti sauce, marinara sauce, salsa, ... like I said tomatos.. must be the

vitamin C in those things.. not sure...

Anyways, you guys listen to .. sugar does come back as un needed

and un wanted pounds.. and it is sneaky.. doesnt show immediately, but within

a few weeks time.. We never get away with sugar consumption..

We all have a disease that this surgery allows us to put into remission..

and as long as we have a healthy fear of regain, then we stay mostly on the

straight and narrow path that leads to good maintenance for those who have

reached their goal.. which for me will be a weight I feel good at rather than

a number.. I tried to put my weight goal into a number, and went below where

I felt good.. was having problems with reactive hypoglycemia.. I regained a

few pounds.. and the reactive hypoglycemia is not an issue now.. may be in

the future again.. but so far , so good..

I hope that I do lose a few more of these pounds , and anticipate that I

will lose some whenever I am able to have abdominoplasty.. currently awaiting

a decision from the insurance company.. I am mostly in size 14/s .. which I

never thought was possible, so I am a happy girl.. can go anywhere shopping

now if I need something, and I feel normal with my friends ..and co

-workers.. Feeling normal is good, and should be our ultimate goal rather

than some magical number on the scale.

Take care everyone,

Hugs,

from GA

That's WHY sugar is evil. Nothing happens. UNTIL IT DOES! So you think

you " got away with it " . I know it certainly did unto me.

I'm guessing that you're not doing 6-7 shakes a day, every day, right? Just

pushing off this carb binge?

Thanks,

levels checked recently?
