Cold turkey...brrrr!

Fay,

I'll join you today and go cold turkey on popcorn too. I have been

on a serious popcorn binge since my Grandmother died. I keep getting

on the scale expecting to be 10 pounds heavier...so far I'm holding

but if this keeps up, it's just a matter of time. It's not even so

much grieving for Grandma anymore...I'm just caught in the cycle.

Helene, I am so very saddened for what you are having to go through.

That horrible hole we try to fill up with munching just doesn't seem

to go away. What makes things worse, is the eating actually seems to

aggravate the situation by making us feel lethargic and depressed.

It's that darned insulin spike and plunge that does it. The plunge

truly exacerbates the depression and makes it virtually a super-human

feat to not reach for more carbs to get that insulin back into the

system.

I'm going to take the advice of a couple of people on the board and

do protein stringently for a couple of days (more if I can, but I

don't want to set myself up for failure. If I can do it just for

today, then I'm a success).

BTW, I found a place that sells optimum nutrition whey protein in 10

lb containers. I ended up paying 50 something dollars for it. If

anyone's interested, I'll give you the online supplier. They were

very efficient, and buying in bulk saved me a bundle. Now all I have

to do is drink that big sucker!!!

Smiles,

Vicki A.

I'm pretty sure I saw the 10 lb jug at GNC the other day for 34.95. GNC has

decreased prices on most things, even on my beloved PB 55, but can't find it

in any size except the 2 lbs container, and I did find it cheaper, even with

S&H at vitalady.

Optimum Nutritions chocolate 100% Whey is so very tasty it'd last about a

week in my house. I know I'm gonna go into renal failure from all the

protein....LOL....Just put me a cup holder on my dialysis chair.....LOL.....

Randy, I checked there too, but that's the big 5 lb. jar. They don't

carry the 10 lb. bag.

The site I ordered from sells 5 lb for $28.95 and 10 lb for 48.95,

flat shipping of $5.95 for total order, no tax.
