Guest guest
I've been having some scary shortness of breath lately, and wound up being admitted to the hospital overnight for tests. My oxygen saturation would drop big time any time I walked around. Doctor thought I might have a blood clot. What a scary experience. I spent 11 hours in the emergency room, and another day having tests. Turns out that my thyroid meds were off...one reason I felt just lousy. I had every test known to man. Thank God, they couldn't find anything obvious. My doctor and I had a non-judgemental conversation about how my poor lungs just cannot support the oxygen needs of my body, so my oxygen levels do drop. It seems my shortness of breath is truly weight related. You can imagine how glad I was that I've been working so hard seeing all my doctors and getting all my documentation in order. I have my surgical consult on Dec. 11. It cannot come too soon. I also want to say that although I don't post that often, I read this board EVERY DAY. I thought of all of you when I was laying in the ER. You show me that a much healthier life lies ahead if I just have the courage to go through the WLS process. Thanks for being here.
