Guest guest
I, too, am sitting here having a mid-morning Protein Shake. Today is my first day going cold turkey on sugar and so far so good. (Note: it's only 10 a.m. East Coast time... LOL) The shake I am enjoying is one which I think others may enjoy: 1 cup of ice, 1 cup of water, 1.5 scoops of chocolate Whey Stack, and a dash of coconut food flavoring. Result: A Mounds Bar shake that is to die for! My question to all of you is this: how long does it take you to drink a shake? When one is as good as the one I am enjoying now, it can be gone in 5 mintues! Is that too quickly? Does it matter how quickly we drink our shakes? Inquiring minds want to know... Guest guest
I don't know this for fact......but I don't imagine that there is a " too short " time....where as there is a " too long " time. Protein shakes start to breakdown and go bad after 30 minutes!! I had always had a problem with taking too long because they nauseated (sp) me too much. Well, thanks to Vitalady's web site I found out that you can only add 4 ounces if you want to....I had been adding 4 oz soy milk and 4 oz water. I don't know if it was the soy or amount but it was tough!! Now that I only have 4 oz to drink I have actually been doing it. Got in at least 2 everyday since!! P. Guest guest
No matter. Can you drink water in 5 min? Sure, go for it. You're a Grad, you know what pain is. LOL! I mean, of course, you'd know if you overextended yourself. Guest guest
I think 5 mins is good, crap I'm lucky if mine lasts over two. I suck that thing down. I'm really addicted to my PB 55. It's aspertame free, so I have to add a coupla' packets of equal and a teaspoon of cool whip...yummmmmmyyyyy. I don't add my old stand by of sugar free chocolate jello pudding powder anymore, I found out that's what was causing my blood sugar to drop, but if you can handle it, throw some in there it's wonderful. Guest guest
< > Noting that I have a bigger stomach with my DS surgery, I normally drink my shake in two gulps (less than a minute). It's usually less than 8 ozs. total, though. Kate
