Can't remember the name, but it was an ice cream parlor-type place, and the park management was the one who found it for me. I was very disappointed in them, and told them so. I told them that I'm sure there were many diabetic children that visited, and I thought they were known for accomodating sick children. I really laid it on...LOL in NJ

Guest guest
I've never had a problem with s/f stuff (or any other special needs) at Disney. When I asked about NSA ice cream for my grandmother (she's diabetic), we were told that we could get it at any of the ice cream carts in the parks or if the cart didn't already have some, they would bring it there. I know that the ice cream parlor on Main Street USA in Magic Kingdom has NSA flavors and that all of the restaurants have an option or two for desert (usually NSA ice cream and a s/f baked something). I don't usually have dessert, but when I want something, they've always been able to accommodate me. I've actually found the Disney restaurants to be the most accommodating as far as giving me the kids price at the buffets or making a smaller portion meal. Even the candy stores have s/f candy (and then frequent bathrooms for when the sugar alcohols hit! lol.) I'm not sure how long I've known about the ice cream and desserts, but maybe your complaint was actually heard by someone there. And the next time you're there, you'll be able to find stuff wherever you go! ------------------------------------------------ Terry Mayers 5DollarHosting.comR http://www.5dollarhosting.com (877)-838-HOST / .... because it shouldn't cost a fortune to make a fortune! Guest guest
I have a little credit card sized card that says that I had gastric bypass surgery and that my stomach was made into a 1 oz pouch. I show it to the server and request either a 1/2 size portion or if it's a buffet I ask for the kid's price. I've rarely had problems with any restaurant. I've even met a couple of servers who also had the surgery! I love the Disney buffets too because I can have a few bites of a variety of things - and there are always lots of great things on the buffets there. I just have to remember to ask the chefs (you can always find one or two walking around the buffet tables checking on things) if there's milk in the dishes. I DON'T want to get caught in a park having a lactose reaction! If you ever go to Hollywood & Vine in Disney/MGM Studios, don't miss the green beans - they're out of this world! ------------------------------------------------ Terry Mayers 5DollarHosting.com® http://www.5dollarhosting.com (877)-838-HOST / .... because it shouldn't cost a fortune to make a fortune! ® Re: Disney & SF desserts Terri, Disney is our favorite vacation spot. Do you have to show them something for the child's portion--that would be a BIG help to me as our family loves the buffet stuff. in Nebraska Disney & SF desserts > > > In a message dated 1/5/2003 10:15:42 PM Eastern Standard Time, > terry@... writes: > > > If anyone ever eats in a > > DisneyWorld restaurant, make sure to ask your server what sugar free > > desserts they have (if you want dessert).
