Guest guest
Hello to All, i was having trouble sending this so i am sorry if you already got this. As so many others i have been lurking. I ran across this site the other night. It seems like there is a lot of caring people here. First i am from a little town about 80 miles north of Pittsburgh, Knox. Not too many people have heard of it. It is near Clarion. I know people say wheres that. Iam 57, 4 children and 4 grand children. Iam 5 " 2 1/2. I weighed in at 253 in Pittsburgh. Not my highest weight. Dr. Samer Matter is my surgeon. Any one here know him. When i decided to do this my family really gave me a hard time. But now they see i am doing it. They are still not for it, but will be there for me. They are afraid I won't make it. I have prayed that God show me if it is ok. I believe he has told me it is. I have been in touch with so many Christians since i started with this. Things have moved so fast since i was at the workshop. I was there at the work shop on Oct. 7. I needed to see my pcp, my councillor, nutritionest, pulmonologist,( i have sleep apnea) and a cardiologist. Oh there was All the blood work also. Would you believe in 3 weeks i have had all my tests done, reports back and i mailed then monday, oct,3. The cardiologist only dictates every couple of days. He did mine the day of my office call. His girls typed them up the next day and i picked them up the next day. I went to see the pulmonologist, I had to have another sleep study done. They made an appointment for Dec. 8 to have the study done. Well then i would take another 2 weeks to it the reports. Well i fooled them. I called to see if i could get on a waiting list if some one cancelled. I told the girl what i was having the tests done to have this surgery. She told me that Bariatric Surgery was a number one priority. I had the sleep study done Oct. 21. The Doc. office should have told them why i was having it done. Then to top it all off, the sleep study people told me it would be 2 weeks till i got the reports. Would you believe they mailed them to me. I got them 2 days later. I feel i am so blessed. God is always there for us. We might not like answer sometimes, but God knows what is best for us. Now i am waiting on the insurance. I have UPMC, have no idea how fast they are at approving it. Haven't seen the surgeon yet and don't have a date yet. NOW ANOTHER WAIT. Later ...... GOD BLESS you .........Carolyn P in Pa.
