Guest guest
I'm not familiar with Dr. Govind, but I'm trying to have my son (8.8 years, with Apraxia and Dysarthia and Sensory Motor Dysfunction) evaluated by a pediatric neurologist and developmental pediatrician that specializes in Apraxia, or knows how to evaluate children with Apraxia and Dysarthia. The last time our child study team tested our son, they used a well- known cognitive test that they didn't motify. Moreover, they are, for the most part, clueless when it comes to our son's special needs- -it shouldn't be a surprise that he's out of district. Obviously, we need to have a very good understanding of our son's strengths and weaknesses with respect to his ability to learn, and we have not been able to obtain that understanding from any of the pediatric neurologist or developmental pediatricians we've seen in the last four plus years. We are also looking for an independent Child Study Team that specializes in evaluating children with apraxia. Our son is in 2nd Grade and we need to ensure that his needs are being met academically. I am very concerned since at times he has difficulty remembering his numbers and can only count up to 12 consistently. Furthermore, we have concerns with respect to his reasoning skills. We live in Northern New Jersey, but we are willing to go outside our area. Thank you for your help.
