Guest guest
Well I just got notice that my insurance did not pay for my initial visit with my surgeon. They said my plan does not cover obesity. I wonder if this means they will not be covering my surgery. It's so frustrating. When I called the insurance about they said that if and when the surgery gets approved then they will reevaluate any of these charges. Just nice to know that I may be stuck with a $300.00 bill that I definitely can't afford. My surgery is scheduled for November 12, and I still have no clue whether its going to be approved. The insurance company requested more information including a psych eval and chart notes for the last 3 years from my physician. That's really easy to get....lol. Well I just needed to vent a little Hoping things work out eventually RNY 11/12/03 (hopefully)
Guest guest
so sorry 'bout that chris. your policy excludes " obesity " , what about " morbid obesity " ? a pretty unpleasant phrase, but qualifying as an MO got me wls. keep trying!! lori h. Guest guest
Well your surgery date is on my date. I haven't heard anything from both of my insurances. I have called them many times and they said they are waiting for the doctor to call. So I guess everything is ready. Cause I had the Greenfield put in and I did everything they said to do. Just waiting for the day. I know to well about insurances. I went thru HECK trying to get them to talk to me. Just keep your chin up and give it to God he will help you. Bc/Bs don't pay for the first office visit. I had to pay that out of my pocket. But it was worth it. I had to pay for the Physic Doctor too. I saved money until I could do it. Well keep in touch. Don't let anything get you down. I don't I keep thinking when something goes wrong God will fix it, it wasn't the right time to have it done. I will pray for you. Guest guest
My plan with my ins.(bc/bs) doesnt cover obesity either but it does cover MO.and that the surgury has to be med. ness'ry. I was surprised when I got the approval(this time). Look at your Ins book and see if it covers MO..it should be where it tells you what it doesnt cover....Let me know.... Thanks
Guest guest
, what company your BC/bs through? My daughter's is through Walmart because her husband is a manager there, but they will not pay, it is an exclusion. I think that it is very unfair because she and her husband both need it. Her husband has been a diabetic since he was nineteen and he has high blood pressure too. A. B. LAP RNY 3/22/03 Dr. Steve Weinstein, MD.
