Guest guest
I just had my open rny on monday the 20 th. This the first time I have had a chance to post. Everthing went well overall. The hospital and dr. took good care of me. My only problem was I developed a lazy bowel that wouldn't wake. I actually vomited 1 time and boy did that hurt. I ended up in the hospital for 2 extra days, because I was so nauseated and didn't want to drink anything. So they kept me in, put my IV back in and rehydrated me. I don't regret the extra hospital time it is better to be safe than sorry. It was hard to see the other 3 patient that had surgery the same day as me, leave on thursday and I stayed til sat. I don't mean to scare any pre-op,I just happened to be the rare person this happens to. Now I am home I find it very hard to remember to constantly sip at something to drink. I am trying hard though. It is good to be able to read everyones posts again. Jill H. 276/post-op 10/20/
Guest guest
constance the main thing they had me do for my lazy bowel was walk. I think the nurse where having a good time chuckling as I went by the nurse station for the millionth time. They did have me take a pill of some sort to try and stimulate the bowel. I also took another pill called reglan. Jill H.
