Guest guest
Although the eyes do not have catilage in them , they have something ( sclera?) that has the same reaction as cartilage. In my case, currently my eyes are the worst problem and I have almost constant inflamations of one or both eyes. This is very painful and also quite damaging to the eyes and vision. After many years of seeing my ophthmologist and treating my monthly and more inflamations, the drops that were used just stopped working. I went to see an inflamatory disease of the eye specialist at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital/Harkness Pavilion in NYC named Dr. Weiss and after a very thorough exam ( even ultrasound of the eyes!) he found that my inflamations were no longer epi-scleritis but are now scleritis and could not be helped with cortisone drops any more and I need to switch to systemic meds. Also, using the cortisone drops all those years has caused glaucoma in my eyes. Good Luck !

Pete's eyes are getting worse and the only thing that seems to help is the pred which makes the eyes worse at the same time...very frustrating.
