Yes it is on the right side but you can have pain all over. It can even feel like a heart attack at time. I know with me my first symptoms were chest pain, that moved into shortness of breath then the most horrible stabbing pain that brought forth screaming. It was horrible. Thank goodness now I only have to watch what I eat since I don't have the gallbladder to filter out the fats and all. If I slip and eat something that has to much fat I get very very sick. T. I never found anything that would help. Eventually the pains passed but the problem was still there. You might can get the doctor to phone you something in until you can get in to see him though. Some of the pain killers might help. OTC items didn't do it for me. Wolfie Leeds, Alabama Lap RNY August 27,2003 Dr. Lee A. Schmitt, M.D. Medical Center East Beginning Weight: 336 " Keep Em Laughing! Guest guest
Everyone has said that they experienced chest pains kind of like heart attack pains but I haven't had those. Just the stabbing pains in my left side and the rest of my torso area feels....weird... kind of like I'm full all the time and have eaten too much. Of course I haven't eaten too much because when I talked to my PA yesterday, he put me on a liquid diet for 24 hours plus I'm supposed to take a laxative. The man thinks every problem I have is related to poo some how. I'm supposed to get " cleaned out " then call him tomorrow to make sure I'm still having the pain after I have a bm. I already did..and I am...Any suggestions for easing the pain since I probably won't get to see the doc or have the ultrasound until Friday or sometime next week?? T. Guest guest
, I never had chest pains either. Just pain in my right side right between my hip bone and my ribs. started off like a dull pain then got progressively stronger over a period of 30 min to the point to where i vomited(pain so bad) and all i could do was lay down for the rest of the day. I also had countless ultrasounds and tests and nothing ever showed up. Ask your Dr about a Hydoscan. If your tests come back ok and you are still having pains. Let me know how things go...I wish this pain on no one...So I know what you are going thru...
Guest guest
what kept my gallbladder attacks in check was to keep away from the triggers. personally, that was greasy food. lori h. > In a message dated 10/22/2003 10:12:56 AM Central Standard Time, > Leeds@e... writes: > Any suggestions for > easing the pain since I probably won't get to see the doc or have the > ultrasound until Friday or sometime next week?? > T. Guest guest
Thanks Lori, I'll keep that in mind. Although I don't eat any greasy foods-yesterday I had 2 chicken nuggets from Mickey D's. But that was after the pain had already started. I have an ultrasound on Friday. I'll let you guys know what they say. T.
