Guest guest Posted October 16, 2003 Report Share Posted October 16, 2003 My surgeon told me the reason we grind up some of our medicines is because they have coatings on them to make them timed-release. Meds that aren't timed-released don't need to be ground up, but the ones that are don't stay in our pouches long enough to have the coatings wear off properly.
