Dawn,

Some people do drink soda.but you shouldn't. Ask your doctor what he/she

thinks but I'll tell you this, the carbonation in soda stretches your

pouch and that is not a good thing. If you decide you want to drink it,

you should let it sit out for about 30 minutes until it is flat and all

of the bubbles have gone out of it before you drink it. Of course this

tastes like crap, but it is still soda. I was addicted to Diet Vanilla

Coke before surgery, which was all I ever drank. No coffee, no water,

nothing else but that Coke. Since my surgery in June, I've had maybe a

20 oz. bottle give or take an ounce. I just don't crave it anymore. Hope

this helps!

I had my surgery 3 months ago and I found I could drink small sips of semi-flat

diet soda. :) I dont' drink very much, but I drink it because I love the cola

taste. I found some 8 oz cans in Target and drink about 4 oz a day. Not many

pple who have had the surgery can tolerate it.
