Guest guest
maria, i'm the same way - had surgery on sept 22nd and started at 263 and now i'm 245 -- and i'm miserable with eating too - just this week i ate baked fish and chicken - some went OK but once it got stuck and OMG the pain ....and another time i think i ate to fast and it came back up. i agree its a lot of work for such a small loss and i'm going to bring it up at the dr next week but i don't expect any great info - your're pretty much on your own after with my surgeon. i see my reg PCP today - having trouble with pain meds... tanya P. visit our website www.geocities.com/tanyarn96/countryside.html www.poncetihomes.com -- Re: tanya Hi tyana Can you please tell mee how in the world have you lost 106 Lbs since June??? Guest guest
, I'll tell you what I told . You're doing a great job! When was the last time you lost that much weight in a short amount of time?? Think about it. that is what counts, not how much you loose in such a short amount of time. Everyone is different. Everyone looses at different paces. The weight will come off! I promise. Just remember the basics, chicken, fish, tuna, pork (no fatty stuff) and beef. Eat your protein first. Walk at least 30-45 minutes per day. If you can't walk, water aerobics is a great way to get your exercise in. Drink your water. I try to drink at least 128 oz. of water a day. This is just me though. Do drink at least 64 oz during the course of the day. If you don't like plain water, drink the Fruit2O water--it's wonderful! My only other concession is that I don't eat carbs. Well, let me qualify that...I don't eat many. If we go out for a steak dinner (yes I can eat steak, a 10-12 oz steak lasts about 3 meals and it's wonderful) and get a baked potato with it, I take two or three bites and give the rest to my kids. Pasta is the same, 2-3 noodles is all. I do not eat more than 1/4 of a slice of bread per week (usually it's more like 3-4 weeks) and no rice AT ALL. I save my carb intake for my Blue Bunny frozen sherbet bars. They are yummy! I have one about every 2-4 days as a special treat. Just don't stress over things so much. You'll do just great. Remember the basics and to (listen to mom here) chew your food at least 30-40 times before swallowing and put your fork down between bites. That helps with not eating too fast. If you need to talk or whatever, message me off board. I'd be glad to chat . T. Lap RNY 6/20/03 432/326/170 Houston, Dr. Adam Naaman
Guest guest
, I had my surgery on 9/22/03! I have lost about the same amount as you have so far. I started at 215 and hope to get down to 135 or so. I was a conversion from the adjustable gastric band, and have already lost around 60lbs from that a few years ago. My doctor converted me to prevent me from regaining the rest of my weight, and a problem with a growth on my esophagus forced him to remove the band. Where are you located? I thought I read where you were in La. I am thinking about getting together a misc support group in Baton Rouge. You'd be welcome to join us if you are interested or close enough. It would be a mixture of bypass patients from various doctors. I think your weight loss is great. DR. 9/22/03 215/188/
Guest guest
I am thinking 22 pounds in 4 weeks is great that's like 5.5 pounds a week. I cannot remeber every having lost that much weight in that amount of time... No matt if we did have the same surgery, everybody will still loose at their own rate, just like everybody can't eat the same. Just keep your chin up, keep walking and drinking water.
