Hi Lori,

I have bruised easily for as long as I can remember. I wake and

notice bruises all the time and dont know how i get them. I even

bruise from the blood pressure cup(automactic one). The nursed asked

me if I took asperin I told her no. But I have always fought with

low Iron and anemia.

Ask the dr to check your blood and iron levels. Extra Iron may

help it does me. Take care and let me know how things are.

i'll keep you posted on my 18 month lab results. (& oh no, my dogs are

99 lbs & 70 lbs, the great dane THINKS she's a lap dog).

lori h.

> How funny that you should bring this up! I have noticed that since

surgery, I do bruise much more easily. My dog, who is about 30 lbs.,

is always jumping on my lap, and so I have some little paw-size

bruises on my upper legs. And it seems like even the slightest bump

into something will leave me with a bruise. Hmmm...I never thought

about vitamin deficiencies. I just thought it was a residual side

effect from surgery.

Well Yes I and No. I am type 2 who presents as Type 1. Meaning I am and

have been Insulin dependent for a long time. However,....I have gone from

taking 50 units of Lantus (A 24 acting Insulin) and 100-150 units of Humalog

(A Fast Acting Insulin) to only....drumroll please......10 units of Lantus

about every three days.

So I am improving and there is hope I may actually get off the insulin

altogether at some point. No guarantees but I am hoping.

I bruise horribly ... not sure why. When I asked my doctor, she recommended

supplementing Vitamin C. I haven't really noticed an improvement though.

P.S. I AM a klutz!

Hey girl! How are you doing my surgery twin? Haven't heard from you in a

while, are things going okay with the move and everything? Just wanted

to see how you were!

By the way.did you see my new stats? I'm down to 337 now. That's 94 lbs

gone! I'm excited! How are you progressing?

Hey,

I am still pre-op and bruise easily. I also ask my dr about this.

Like I told Wolfie in a earlier post. when you have blood work done

again ask what your Iron and blood count is. Why? I am anemic and

have to take Iron to keep my blood levels up. I can tell when it

starts getting low or when I am becoming severe is I get really bad

dark circles under my eyes like I havent slept for days. But anyways,

Next time just ask about your Iron. Maybe just taking in some more

Iron wil help.

BTW....I was wondering....If your bruise easily before

surgury..wonder how much worse it would get after surgury?????
