Hi , Make sure you take some chapstick with alot of emollient, you arent allowed anything to drink the first day and your lips will get very dry. If you are allowed water, do not swallow, it will make you sick. I know my nurses were leary of letting me have it but I assured them I would not swallow. I kept a spit out cup on the table in front of me and it was wonderful to be able to wet my mouth. I also took my own gowns. The hospital jobs don't get it and a robe. Alot of people take their own pillows. A walkman or cd player and cd's. I also took shampoo and hair dryer. Wet wipes for hygiene. Toothbrush from home. Non skid house shoes. This is all I can remember for now. Anyone else have any suggestions? Wolfie Leeds, Alabama Lap RNY August 27,2003 Dr. Lee A.
