Yes Audrey. The staples should come out at clinic tomorrow. If they're not

ready to come out, your PCP should be able to do it. I got the tool, and

did it myself! It was very easy and painless.

Blessings

I don't know about the rest of the post-ops, but I have 5 staples,

one

for each incision. I also e-mailed Debbie to ask if the staples

would

be removed at clinic tomorrow, but I haven't heard back. I had the

MGB 7-17-00. Does anyone know when the staples come out?

Thanks,

Audrey

I think you misread the above. It says you get one staple for each

incision. We all have five incisions (occasionally someone gets six).

These are where the trocars go in for the laparoscopic surgery. The

point is that you don't get any stitches to hold the incisions together,

you get one staple (for each incision). The earlier poster asked about

" stitches. "

I also e-mailed Debbie to ask if the staples

Hi Kerri,

I had the staples and drain in for one week. Once they took them out I

felt like a brand new me. It was so much more comfortable. I don't think I will

ever forget that comfortable feeling.

Kerri my doctor said he was going to take mine out in 10 days. Don't be too

nervous. God is with you. You will be on the BIG L side in 6 days. Just

Don't

look back go frontwards. I have 32 days to go and I am going to take my advice.

I know two hours after surgery they had me up walking to prevent clots from

building in the legs. Plus I had to lay in bed with these inflatable things on

my legs to prevent them from forming in the legs while I was resting.

My doctor didn't use staples at all. All of the stitches were on the

inside & there was just surgic tape on the outside. I have been

treating my scare since it was healed & it has all but disappeared

in just 13 weeks.

Good luck with your surgery. Being on the losing side is awesome.
