more like months, depending on the surgeon and what the need for this surgery

is. I was on a waiting list that was for 18 months plus in Vermont and then

found a surgeon here in New York that got me in for a consult, my tests and

surgery in less than 8 months : )

for me from the time of my first consultation until my scheduled date its

been 7 months. iad my consult on march 19th and my psch eval one week later then

the weight loss center submitted everything to my insurance company. i was

denied 3times and finally on the last appeal where i accutually spoke to the

panel that was making the decission i was approved. that was sept 5th and my

surgery is scheduled for oct 28th they wanted to do it on oct 14th but i am

covering for someone at my job who is off on maternity leave. so i would say

that it

varies some people get approved the first time out others of us have to fight

the ins company.

Just curious to know about how long it takes from the time you have

your first consultation with your surgeon until you they actually

schedule your surgery? A few weeks, months??

It depends on many, many things...but my initial visit was in

December, and I had surgery May 12. Others are quicker...still

others wait much longer. Sorry this isn't very helpful. You might

ask your doctor's staff to offer you a ballpark timeframe--assuring

them, of course, that you won't get mad if they're off a bit! TJ

I t depends on your insurance and your doctor. From my initial consult it

took a month for the insurance to approve me and then my surgery was

scheduled for about 4 weeks later. But then someone got sick and so I got

pulled in and had my surgery about 2 weeks after approval.
