Welcome and congrats on the weight loss. That is hard to believe!

169 lbs in a year! You have done well with the weight thing but sorry you

are having difficulty with your back. Just curious that you mentioned the

commencement of the back problem conincidental to WLS, were you told there

was a connection?

1 year anniversary

Hi everyone! Today is my one year anniversary. I had open RNY on

4/5/02. I've lost 169 lbs so far and have 23 left to go to achieve

my goal of 150 lbs.

This last year has been a very difficult one for me. I've been

suffering with chronic back pain since I was 3 weeks post-op. After

5 months of testing and 2 more surgeries, I was finally diagnosed

with muscle spasms and facet joint disease. It doesn't look like

the pain will be going away any time soon.

I'm glad that I can finally post here. I find the information to be

invaluable.

God Bless,

Lake

I just wanted to share with a group that would understand my excitement,

sadness, humbleness, etc. that tomorrow is my one year anniversary since open

RNY. I started at 277 and am now 141. It has been a long and winding road with

many positive and well frustrating experiences. However, I would not change any

of it. I have grown into a much stronger person. I see life through a very

different lens and am so grateful that I have had this experience. I have shed

many tears today over the incredible transformation that has occurred. I know

that there will be many more obstacles and gifts that will occur. However, I

just wanted to share that I am grateful to have a group of people to share with

my excitement for what has occurred in the last year.

n,

How excited I am for you! Oct.12 will mark 5 months since my

surgery. We were very close in our beginning sizes, (I was 274) and

you are so near what my goal is for myself (134). As of today, I

have lost 77.5 lbs. Unfortunately, the last four weeks have seen a

loss of only 4 of those lbs. Did you expericence many plateaus like

this? At the rate of the past few weeks I'll be nowhere near my goal

by the time I reach my one year anniversary, but I'm SO thankful for

the loss I've had. And I so glad you posted. You give me the

encouragement I need. Please keep in touch. I am so happy for you.
