Guest guest
I'm two weeks post op and I'm not puree-ing. I keep it chopped up and mushey and chew well. I haven't had any problems, but I'm a little annoyed with myself for not doing it 'by the book'. Did anyone else handle their pureed stage like this? Thanks... Guest guest
Yep Val. If I had to rely on pureeing my food in a blender, I wouldn't have gotten any food in. Each time I tried to eat something that had previously been " chewed " by my blender it made me heave. I just made sure I took teeny bites (using baby utensils) and chewed super well. Some times swaying from the book is necessary as long as we don't lose sight of what it takes to reach the final chapter. Guest guest
I did the same thingas you are doing. I NEVER pureed anything, not even once and I am fine. As long as you chew well you are fine. Just make sure you chew, chew, chew until it is mush ROBIN, NEW YORK AGE-41 OPEN RNY OCT. 18TH, 2002 DR. Guest guest
Val, I tried to go by the book also, but after taking a short cut and using baby food as my pureed stage.. I soon found that I would rather starve. Why don't we like children enough to feed them something good??? kidding I did the soups, heavy liquids and very soft foods and chewed thouroughly during my pureed stage too. I did fine with it, and lost just as much as I was expected to. Sometimes small adjustments have to be made.. but don't lose sight of the tracks the WLS has helped put before you.. try to stay as close as you can to the plan and not to deviate too far. It's very easy to fall back into those bad habits we all had which got us in this mess in the first place. Good luck > I'm two weeks post op and I'm not puree-ing.
