Hi everyone,

I have been without a phone line (and therefore no pc access) for

over a month and it's good to be back...I know you regulars don't

know me too well - I only posted a few times. I need to tell you all

that as I was waiting for my surgery in July, August and beginning of

September I watched your posts all the time. They gave me strength,

hope and made me laugh! I had my surgery on 9/10 and it's been tough

but day by day I'm getting better. I want to thank you for being

here. I'll be checking in every day with " my people " ! =}

Angie, where abouts in Northern California are you? I'm just

beginning the process, have the referral from my doctor and received

the forms to fill out last week, will send them off next week. It

will take about a year to actually have the surgery. I'll be having

in Sacramento at UCD Med Center. Janice

Hi Angie,

And welcome back. I know I would have gone nuts if I had not been able

to stay in touch with this group. It is an excellent group. Glad your back and

I hope your recovery gets better and better.

Way to go! And you are losing beautifully, I see by your numbers. Are

things going smoothly or having bumps in the road?

Ann - never give up the fight!!! Well, the hospital was hell and the

first 18 days I thought I had made the most dreadful decision and I

was sooooo miserable. Day 19 the clouds broke and slowly but surely

I'm getting back to " me " . The glue and steri strips separated around

week 1 and I needed some deep stitches but they are out now (my scar

will be bigger in that area). It's such a slow recovery don't you

agree or is your experience different?

Yes it was a slow recovery for me, which surprised me. But I was

reassured by everyone that it would get better. To be honest, for a

while I thought they were full of it. But eventually - I did feel

better. Very gradually. I am 53, that might make a difference, also had

Open not lap.

My PMD threw me a curveball last week, I may have Hepatitis C. We

did the more precise test but I am so bummed. Please let it have been a

false positive!

Ann-

Any more news about the Hep C? I certainly am thinking about you. I

had open also with the choly. I guess, 'what can we expect?', we had

major surgery, duh! To Ann and all those having a slow recovery:

have 'Sunrise Faith': that is, the sun will always rise and we will

perservere - there is just no question that we will succeed and as

Ann sez, never give up the fight!
