Guest guest
Hi everyone! I'm currently covered under a health plan that I'm told doesn't cover WLS (Healthguard of Lancaster)I'm in PA and I was wondering if I should hold out any hope that I can get approved if my doctor deems this medically necessary?! Have any of you fought your insurance companies to have this done? I've talked with Member Services at the insurance company and they tell me this is directly excluded under my employers plan BUT no one will show me written documentation to prove it. Any ideas or suggestions??? Thanks!
Guest guest
Hi I am also covered under a plan that has any form of weight loss, surgical or non, as an exclusion. I went ahead and did the surgery (paid out of pocket for it), and have a lawyer trying to get the money back. It doesn't look very promising though. Even though the surgery was very expensive, it was worth every penny and just think of the tax write off I will have for this year. Best of luck to you Mindi 277/206.5/115??
