Guest guest
During my six years of SCD, I never had a waffle, and was given a Cuisinart Belgian Waffle iron which makes two waffles. After a few near sticky misses, I got the procedure down pat and was gifted with waffle perfection at this morning's breakfast. Here's the method. (I onlymade one waffle on one side of the machine) Mix your batter in a pyrex measuring cup with a spout so it's easy to pour. I use the Midas Gold recipe from BTVC with pecan flour. Lightly oil the top and bottom of the grid. ( I spray on olive oil) Preheat the machine for five minutes or until the " ready " light goes on (it's usually and logically a green light). Pour in the batter. close the lid and set your timer for four minutes. The waffle is not ready when you see steam. The steam usually slows down when it's nearly ready. When the timer goes off lift the lid and the waffle should be gently loosened with a non metal spatula and transferred to the serving dish. It will be light and crisp with deep pockets to hold the honey or topping. Waffles freeeze beautifully and are very portable. Carol F.
