Guest guest
> > Does anyone else have a toddler or child that get sick quite > frequently? LeAnn, My daughter never complained when she was sick, but I could tell by her change in moods. As a toddler, she seemed healthy, until she started Kindergarten. Now she seems sick every month. She still won't complain, so I have to take her to the doctor from time to time, to check her ears, throat..etc. In fact, she has an appt. tomorrow because she's been coughing so much. A lot of the cold medicines....she can't take, because it alters her moods or she refuses to eat. By the way...anyone out there...what cold medicines do your AS kids take, that won't make them moody, angry or passive/aggressive? Doctor wanted her on Claritin, but it made my daughter hard to be around. Even the kids at school noticed. Ann....as for the constipation problem, my daughter is on Glycolax. She's been constipated from the day we adopted her at 13 months. She could hold it for 5-7 days. Since she had food issues, it was hard getting her to eat prunes, Fig Newtons or raisins. She's 5.5, and she started out with a full capful, but now that she is eating and gaining weight, I only give her 1/3 the dosage. Weekends, she doesn't seem to need it. She tells me it doesn't have a taste to it. Mari
Guest guest
fevers and vomiting seem like alarms going off to me. I would check with an allergist to see if he is not sensitive you just do not know about yet. peppernspice6786@... wrote: >Hello, >I have a 7 year old son with apraxia who seems to get sick more frequently >than my other children, specifically, fevers (100-103) and vomiting. Guest guest
My daughter gets sick more than her brothers. an example is when my son got pneumonia, he had a cough that was really bad, but felt like going to school for most of his school day. He would just go in late. My daughter caught his pneumonia and got a fever to go with the cough and missed two weeks of school because she had a fever with her illness. She has been diagnosed as OCD and Anxiety with Language disabilities, sensory integration dysfunction, and I believe dyspraxia that is resolved, but undiagnosed. Her worries cause her to get sicker than her brothers in my opinion. Maybe your son has Anxiety issues. Guest guest
I'd check with the allergist about allergies or intolerances. I was shocked when I laid out #3 med history for the allergist. Our goal is to be casin/soy/glutten free by September and hopefully we will make it through a winter without augmentan; zithromax, prednisone, albuterol, pulmocort - (yes all for the same kid!) I believe that casin is the culprit for #3. Have you kept a diary of what may be possible triggers? Like certain foods, activities, etc?? What are the staple foods? Can you go off of them for a couple of weeks then re-evaluate? _____ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of boudreaulorraine@...
