How about Boudreaux's butt paste?

I have a tube that is barely used since a little works magic.

Not yet. With (5), we have done all this without a lot of

guidance. (And it's working -- he is on FIRE since I upped his fish

oil to three times per day. I hope it lasts and isn't just a

coincidence.) And frankly, I'm sick of playing doctor. So I just sent

in the paperwork to a nearby DAN doctor that is well-versed in these

things. I'm going to get him to do all of the -recommended

tests, and probably a bunch of allergy testing.

Believe it or not, out of all the stuff that could have motivated me to

take one of these guys to a DAN doctor, it was the diaper rash that

finally drove me to it.

Could be yeast, so I would test for it, but it sounds more like food

intolerance - what is he eating? Try taking out dairy and gluten, and

see what happens. If it's yeast, the over the counter yeast creams

will help some; if they do, I would treat it systemically with diflucan.

I second that recommendation. Boudreaux's is a miracle cure. Also,

the post a few days ago about putting the unflavored maalox on the

child's bottom... that also works wonders!!!!

Hello,

Someone else mentioned food allergies- I will add the

same input. My son has had a lactose inlolerance issue

(not an allergy, just can't drink regular milk

products) which we descovered only after several very

bad diaper rash incidents. If this is the connection,

his BMs are likely to have an sulfuric type odor to

them. He is 3, and still gets this same type of

intense rash everytime we re-try to give him regular

milk (he is fine on lactaid).

Just one quick tip - baby oil cuts right through the Desitin, so you

do not have to rub as hard to get it off when there is a BM. No sting

either. We would use cloth diapers, my husbands old undershirts, etc.

soaked with baby oil and it help SOOOO much for the clean ups. Not a

cure, just help for while the rash lasts.
