Life of alcoholism, severe abdominal pain, failed surgical procedure

due to complications, intestinal seizure, heart attack, sound

familiar? Why have they glossed over the diagnosis as a " Stomach

Blockage " ? It won't help our cause if a high profile case like this

gets swept under the carpet.

Maurice Gibbs was part of the musical group the BeeGees that was very popular in

the 1970's Rock/Disco era. They are one of those groups that still performed,

but no recent hit records.

The person that posted this particular item seemed to " know " that Maurice Gibbs

had pancreatitis, although there was no cofirming information to back it up. I

tried to find information on the internet and perhaps the confusion occurs if

you put in " maurice gibbs pancreatitis " it pulls up several people with the last

name Gibbs and " died of pancreatitis " . I did not find any confirming

information that Maurice Gibbs did in fact have pancreatitis.

Hope this helps,

Hi Gail....

I took that original message entirely different from what you did.   I

thought it was written facetiously, sarcastically...saying why don't

the doctors say he had pancreatitis instead of a " blocked intestine. "

I never saw anything written to say he had panc.

I work in the front office of an operating room and a blocked or

twisted bowel is nothing to sneeze at....it is an extremely serious

condition...>>

Dear Jeannine;

I never thought about the fact that it might have been written facetiously or

sarcastically...that would

certainly make more sense. As to Gibb vs. Gibbs - I did

the search both ways (out of curiosity) and as to the serious nature of a

twisted

bowel - I do know it is bad as my cousin is still recovering from surgery two

months

ago. She still has a way to go for a full recovery as her body tries to

heal. She

had been having " problems " for several years, but didn't think she needed to

go

to the doctor. Thankfully her mother recognized that she was feeling worse

and

worse and made her go to the doctor.

Thanks for the response.
